Mangrove forests are among the most dynamic ecosystems on earth. They serve many important functions such as water filtration, prevention of coastal erosion, coastal protection from storms, livelihood provision and carbon storage.
They also provide habitats for endangered species like the Bengal tiger, the Hawksbill turtle, the Southern bald eagle, and the West Indian manatee.
Mangroves provide a spectrum of products that help support livelihoods. These include wood (for construction and fuel), honey, dye, herbal remedies and fodder. They also help to trap sediment from runoff and river water, protecting ecosystems and reducing the turbidity of the water. They have also been found to protect corals from ocean acidification.

How Can I Help?
Join us as we partner with local communities in the co-laboring and long term education of the importance of mangrove forests. Through research, education and replanting efforts, we hope to make this a collective effort worldwide!
